Here at Aqua Action we pride ourselves on having an easy-going, safe and thorough training staff. Our team ranges from Divemaster through Staff Instructor, and have many years of experience with literally thousands of successful diver certifications. We have many options, to fit a wide variety of desires and time constraints. We offer programs focused on just getting you diving in as few as two hours, to full Open Water certification classes. We have a modern, fully-equipped classroom, and our confined water training is done in our calm, clear bay. We also employ several PADI eLearning options for those of you who want to maximize your vacation dive time! (Note: Prices do not include classroom materials)

Discover Scuba Dive

Scuba Dive Lessons
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVE
This introductory Discover Scuba Diving course begins with learning about the basics of SCUBA in a classroom setting. Next your training will proceed in the shallow, crystal clear water of Secret Harbour. Here, with an instructor you get a chance to work on basic necessary dive skills to gain the confidence you will desire for your 45 minute instructor supervised 20' bay dive. Our highly qualified PADI instructors will have you feeling comfortable and confident when taking your first underwater breaths! If you love Scuba diving as much as we do, we can get you out on our dive boat for 2 subsequent open water dives for only an additional $145.

PREREQUISITES

  • Be 10 years or older 
  • "NO" answers on the PADI Medical Questionnaire or Physicians sign off.
  • Must be able to tread water for 10 minutes with no assistance

Mask, fins, BCD, regulator tanks and weights.

PADI Scuba Diver Course

Scuba Lessons

PADI SCUBA DIVER COURSE
This course requires less time than the PADI Open Water Diver course, covering only the first three of five sections of knowledge development, the first three of five confined water sessions, and the first two of four open water training dives, resulting in a limited certification. Particularly, if you expect to go scuba diving primarily in the company of a Divemaster, staying at or above 40 feet, or if you just have limited time to devote to scuba certification, PADI Scuba Diver certification is right for you.

This certification allows for ample dive experience and is a good warm-up for the Open Water Diver course, if that’s your ultimate goal. PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:  

  • Dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 metres / 40 feet
  • Obtain air fills, rent or purchase scuba equipment and participate in other diving activities as long as they have the required supervision
  • Continue their dive training and complete PADI Open Water Diver certification and other courses such as Project AWARE and equipment specialty courses

PADI Open Water Course

THE PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE
The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular SCUBA course, and has introduced millions of people to the underwater world. Start your scuba certification online or get started with the PADI Open Water Diver Touch™ (Android or iOS) During the course, you’ll participate in five confined water sessions and four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development (online, Open Water Diver Touch or in a classroom ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving 
  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills 
  • Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore! 
PREREQUSITES
To enroll in the PADI Open Diver course or Junior Open Water Diver course, you must:

  • Be 10 years or older

PADI REFERRAL COURSE
Did you start your Open Water Course somewhere else and looking to finish? We can do referrals from any major SCUBA diving agency with the universal referral form or completed and signed off paperwork from your previous dive instructor or shop.  

Padi Advanced Open Water

THE ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE
This course will help you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water and a better dive buddy. This is a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. This course builds on what you’ve learned and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving. You’ll hone your skills by completing five adventure dives that introduce you to:

  • Underwater navigation
  • Deeper water diving (18-30 metres / 60-100 feet)
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Any two more Adventure Dives of your choice

THE FUN PART: YOUR CHOICE
One reason you’ll love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from 15 types of Adventure Dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving, diving with underwater scooters, peak performance buoyancy and much more. Each Adventure Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course may credit toward the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course.

PREREQUISITES: To take this course, you must be:

  • A PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • 15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver. 10-11 can qualify for Junior Adventure Diver.)

PADI Rescue Diver Course

THE PADI RESCUE DIVER COURSE
This course is considered one of the most rewarding and challenging courses taken by recreational divers and in the end most say it was the best class yet!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
The PADI  Rescue Diver course focuses on the following

  • Self rescue
  • Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
  • Emergency management and equipment malfunctions
  • Rescuing panicked divers above and below the surface
  • Rescuing unresponsive divers

This course will have you walking away as a more confident diver and buddy knowing you are equipped to handle most all SCUBA rescue scenerios.

PREREQUSITES

  • You need to be at least 12 years old
  • Certified to beyond entry-level with proof of underwater navigation training, such as PADI Adventure Diver with the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive completed.
  • You must be fit for diving to be certified as a PADI Rescue Diver. 

  • You must have completed Emergency First Responder or CPR/First Aid within the past 24 months.
